Marcel Vollenberg
service technician internal/workshop manager

Thirty years of experience? What is your background?
I spent the majority of my working career as a welder and fitter in a shipyard in Grave. The shipyard went bankrupt in 2012, but I was lucky to find work again quickly at SNL Systems, a mechanical engineering company. Then I read on the website that IVS was looking for a workshop manager for the new premises.
What is your personal challenge at IVS?
My specific work experience is a good match with the company. IVS is an ambitious organisation that wants to grow, and I am glad to do my part. I work closely with the project manager, and supervise the team in the workshop. I also have to ensure stocks are in order, receive incoming goods and ensure everything is in the right place. There’s nothing worse than needing a spare part only to find it isn’t there.
And what do you do in your leisure time?
Well, you might find me somewhere in Holland or Europe alongside a BMX track cheering on my son. And if I’m not watching the BMX races, I enjoy the peaceful pursuit of fishing.
