Who?
Coppens Animal Feed is a company that has guaranteed high quality and reliable animal feed for more than 90 years, in combination with innovative and competent advice. In this way, the enterprise contributes to healthy and high-performance animals and to a stable future of pig and poultry farming.
What?
The challenge put to us by Coppens was to provide the plant in which the new vacuum coaters would be installed with oil and enzyme dosing systems.
How?
The challenge of this project was to work with KSE to produce a solution in which four vacuum coaters are connected to a single dosing system for each liquid and which uses only one flowmeter for all four coaters. A timeline was set out beforehand to determine by simulation whether obstacles would arise when changing the dosages of the various lines. The simulation showed that it was indeed possible, from a technical point of view, to design such a system.
Oil dosing systems
For the oil dosing systems, we opted for built-in self-cleaning filters in the pump set. Here, the oil for the dosing of the coaters is filtered to 560 Mu. The coarse particles thus filtered off are then dosed together with the liquid in the mixer. In order to ensure correct dosing ranges and dosing times, the dosing systems operate by means of a pressure system to open the right manifolds mounted on the coaters.
Enzyme dosing systems
For dosing enzymes, a central dosing unit is mounted beneath the coaters. A small dosing unit is mounted near each coater, which mixes enzymes with water that is used as a carrier. Again, a pressure system is used to ensure the correct dosing ranges and dosing times.
