IVS project for FeedValid
IVS Dosing Technology has been a member of the Triott Group since the beginning of this year. The synergy advantages of being part of the Triott Group are being increasing experienced - on this occasion thanks to a collaboration with Ottevanger Milling Engineers and Pelleting Technology Netherlands (PTN). At the end of November, Ottevanger Milling Engineers and FeedValid signed a cooperative agreement. The new line will enable FeedValid to double its volume of production.
Recent developments around nitrogen, methane, sustainability and European sourcing have led to increased demand for livestock feedstuffs which can be even better utilised. In Poederoijen, FeedValid produces various protein-enriched, rumen-bypass products. The new production line from Ottevanger will make it possible for FeedValid to stabilise meal, oilseeds and legumes in a better and more efficient manner and treat them thermally.
Bypass proteins
The right stability process combined with high digestibility makes it possible to reduce the raw protein content in the feed to as low as 15%. This contributes to a reduction in nitrogen and methane emissions as well as to the lowering of feed costs.
Heat treatment
Up to now the technology for treating proteins chemically produced higher stability and superior digestibility than technology involving the use of heating and additives. But thanks to research into heat treatment and the right additives, a state-of-the-art production line will be installed which will deliver virtually the same stability and digestibility as would chemical treatment.
Capacity doubled
The new production line is to be built within an existing building at the factory site. This investment will enable FeedValid to double its current volume of production and thus equip it to more than meet the growing demand in the coming decades for bypass proteins and heat-treated oilseeds and legumes.
The role of IVS
IVS is supplying and installing steam and liquid dosing installations for the project. For the thermal treatment, dosing steam is necessary in this process on the conditioner, toaster and throughout the drying process. We will also be installing a complete steam extinguishing system. A significant amount of piping will be installed for the various liquid dosing units connecting them to the storage tanks, pump units, dosing sets, conditioners and toaster. A large number of installation components will be insulated by the team at our insulation department. Construction will start in December 2019 and is scheduled for completion within a few months.
About FeedValid
FeedValid provides ingredients for efficient and sustainable animal feed by maximising the valorisation of raw materials and processing food industry waste into circular raw materials. FeedValid has production and storage locations in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, and supplies its products throughout much of Europe. FeedValid is part of Brokking’s Beheer, a family business with a long history in the agricultural sector and animal feed.
